Maison Camille Giroud
Camille Giroud is a 4-star rated estate by Bettane + Desseauve. Founded in 1865, it was a legendary and iconic négociant brand of its time. In those days, the house selected only wines that were full-bodied, powerful, and capable of developing complexity and unique character through aging. These wines would be cellared for many years—even decades—until deemed ready to drink, and only then released for sale. Guided by this philosophy, Camille Giroud achieved tremendous success and accumulated a rich and exceptional inventory of aged wines.
Entering the new millennium, the estate faced operational difficulties. To restore the luster of this legendary name, a group of investors led by Ann Colgin—proprietor of the renowned American cult winery Colgin Cellars—acquired the estate. They subsequently appointed legendary winemakers David Croix and Carel Voorhuis as estate managers. Under their direction, Camille Giroud underwent a stylistic evolution: the wines now display elegance and finesse even in their youth, while still retaining excellent aging potential. Today, at Camille Giroud, you can find both a vast treasure of mature, aged wines and beautifully refined new vintages—offering a glimpse of both the past and the future in one place.
Region : Burgundy- Volnay

Taste : The nose, softened and refined by time, weaves together dark cherry, floral notes, earth, mushroom, and a subtle hint of vanilla and spice. On the palate, the fruit remains clearly defined, with good concentration and a silky texture enveloping the core of fruit. The finish lingers with hints of dried flowers and minerality.
