DOMAINE D'ARDHUY
Domaine d’Ardhuy is located in the heart of Burgundy, in the Côte de Nuits bordering the Côte de Beaune. It is nestled in the Clos des Langres, which has been known for the quality of its wine since the monks of the Abbaye de Cîteau planted the first vineyards in the 10 th century. Four generations of the d'Ardhuy family have owned this 45 hectare estate, the vineyards of which stretch from Puligny-Montrachet to Gevrey-Chambertin and produce some 40 different wines (mainly grands crus and premier crus including Corton, Clos de Vougeot, Corton Charlemagne).
The production of excellent wines demands vinifying grapes of exceptional quality. This is the motto of domaine owner Gabriel d’Ardhuy. All estate vines are cared for with respect and cultivated in a traditional manner, ensuring the maximum uptake of characteristics of the terroir and its micro-climates. Each bountiful harvest is the result of meticulous vineyard stewardship. A deep appreciation and understanding of the land and frequent maturity checks enable the domaine to harvest each field at its optimum maturity. All fermentation takes place traditionally in oak barrels with regular stirring of the lees at the end of the fermentation process.
Grapes:Pinot Noir
Taste:Cherry, vanilla and hazelnut on the nose with a palate that is remarkably well structured for this price; Perfectly harmonized tannins and acidity working beautifully with the fruit from first taste right through to the fruity and quite lengthy finish.
