DIEVOLE
The Dievole estate is found in the small Etruscan village of Vagliagli on the rolling hills of Siena. The 411 hectares are all enclosed in one estate in the heart of Tuscany in the Chianti Classico area. Here you can find woods, olive groves and crop fields with of course the 86 hectares of Dievole’s vineyards, 300-420 metres above sea level. Traditional and antique vines grow aside new and fashionable vines, cultivated using the spurred cordon system, with a plant density from 4,500 to 6,800 vines per hectare in the Sessina and Campinovi vineyards. There is proof that the winery has been working since 1090, when two farmers went to the Commune to pay their rent for the land with six silver coins, three loaves of bread and two chickens.
Grapes:Sangiovese
Taste:Wine with a strong character. The grapes have been harvested by hand by the end of September early October. Bright ruby red. The bouquet has an aroma of ripe fruit. On the palate, the wine is full bodied with just the right touch of acidity to balance the alcoholic component.
