Château de Gaure
The history of the Château de Gaure traces back to prehistoric times of 1150, but the lastest owner – the Fabre family acquires the Château de Gaure in 2005. It is an estate in Languedoc Roussillon with 200 ha of land, which also has a castle in the middle of its territory. In 2006, the family acquired the second estate to find a true red terroir. The winery works with organic farming since 2005, and the yields have reduced by higher quality. It found the balance between 15 and 25hl/ ha. These yields allow them to wait for beautiful maturities of the grapes. Then, they collect the grapes in a perfect sanitary condition by mutual harvesting and ferment the wines with natural yeast. The walls of the cellar are decorated with beautiful paintings as well as awesome artwork on the label of each vintage. The winery will help you discovering works of art not only outside the bottle but also within.
Region :Languedoc
Varietal :Grenache, Syrah & Carignan
Alcohol:14%VOL
Tasting Notes : Beautifully plush and silky on the medium-full-bodied palate, we just loved the mingling of red fruits, black fruits, licorice, flowers, minerals and mocha in both the nose and mouth. This has a very refined style for what you would consider a 'country' red, and will be great to recommend to Chateauneuf-du-Pape lovers, or even adventurous Cabernet fans.
